2-Hole AMPS Mount Panel for Cubby in OEM Trim Plate | 2014-2018 Silverado Sierra

This 2-Hole AMPS mount panel fits 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierras that have the cubby in the trim piece that surrounds the 4x4 and headlight switches. This cubby is only present on trucks that DO NOT have the OEM trailer brake controller. If you have the factory trailer brake controller, this will not work in your truck.

Some slight modification to the trim piece is necessary for installation. You will have to drill a hole in the back of the trim piece for the bolt that secures the switch panel. If you ever decide to remove the switch panel and want to replace the trim piece with an unmodified one, for reference, it is GM Part #23476235.

AMPS is an industry standard mounting pattern commonly used by mounts meant to hold iPads and other tablets, GPS devices, phones, and other devices.

The holes in this panel are dimensioned to fit device and ball mounts with the 2-hole AMPS pattern.

Panel Installation Info and Instructions
Tools required:
- 7/16" wrench
- 1/4" drill bit

Tools recommended:
- 5/16" drill bit to expand drilled bolt hole

Please note that the following video is for installing the switch panel version of cubby panel. Therefore, information related to switches and wiring will not be relevant to the 2-Hole AMPS version of the panel. However, the parts showing how the panel is bolted to the trim piece will be helpful for your install. You can review the "What's in the Box" tab on this product page to verify what is included with the 2-Hole AMPS mount panel.

One hole is required to secure the panel to the trim piece. To drill the hole in the correct location, it is recommended that you remove the trim piece from the truck, place the panel in the trim piece, and mark the location of the hole using the hole in the panel as a guide. I recommend starting with a 1/4" bit and then expanding the hole to 5/16" to make it easier to drop the bolt through.

Once the hole is drilled, secure your AMPS-compatible device mount to the printed panel. Then, place the included bolt through the hole in the panel so the hex head is on the inside of the panel and the threads stick out the back (there is a hex shaped recess for the bolt head to fit in). Hold the panel so the hex head is oriented up; this helps keep it in place as you perform the next step.

Now, carefully drop the panel into the trim piece, making sure the bolt goes through the drilled hole. Then, slide the washer and thread the nut onto the bolt. Be careful how you perform this step as you don't want the bolt to slip back into the cubby.

That's it! You can now snug up that 1/4" bolt and reinstall the trim piece in the truck.
