This switch panel fits 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierras that have the cubby in the trim piece that surrounds the 4x4 and headlight switches. This cubby is only present on trucks that DO NOT have the OEM trailer brake controller. If you have the factory trailer brake controller, this will not work in your truck.
Some slight modification to the trim piece is necessary for installation. You will have to drill a hole in the back of the trim piece for the bolt that secures the switch panel. If you ever decide to remove the switch panel and want to replace the trim piece with an unmodified one, for reference, it is GM Part #23476235.
Available Options
Note: Wires are no longer included for any of the options.
Blank Panel Only:
If you'd like to cut your own holes in the panel, choose the Blank Panel Only option. This will be a panel with a solid front face, i.e., no precut holes. No switches are included.
Toggle, w/ Switches:
The panel will come with toggle switches preinstalled.
Toggle, w/o Switches:
This option will include the toggle switch holes, but no switches. Please see the diagram on the Specifications tab for hole dimensions to verify it will work with your switches.
Rocker, w/o Switches:
This option will include the rocker switch holes, but no switches. Please see the diagram on the Specifications tab for hole dimensions to verify it will work with your switches.
Rocker, w/ [Green/Orange/Red/Blue]:
These options will come with rocker switches preinstalled. The switches will have indicator lights matching the color option.
Rocker Switch Wiring Info
The rocker switches have three pins/blades on the back.
Gold pin: Ground (-)
Silver pin in middle: Fused 12v power source (+)
Silver pin on end: Load (+); this will most likely be going to a relay if you are using one, which you should be for most applications!
Panel Installation Info and Instructions
Tools required:
- 7/16" wrench
- 1/4" drill bit
Tools recommended:
- 5/16" drill bit to expand drilled bolt hole
Please note that the following video has some outdated information with regard to what is included with your purchase - see the "What's in the Box" tab for current information:
One hole is required to secure the switch panel to the trim piece. The easiest way to get the hole drilled in the correct place is to remove the middle switch from the switch panel, place the switch panel in the trim piece, and then use the bolt hole in the switch panel as a guide to drill through the trim piece from the inside of the cubby. Removing the switches allows you to access the inside of the cubby with the drill bit. I recommend starting with a 1/4" bit and then expanding the hole to 5/16" to make it easier to drop the bolt through.
Once the hole is drilled, you can reinstall the switches in the panel and then place the included bolt through the hole in the switch panel so the hex head is on the inside of the panel and the threads stick out the back (there is a hex shaped recess for the bolt head to fit in).
At this stage, you can attach your wires to the switches and run the wires through the existing hole in the back of the trim piece. If you're up for making further modifications to the trim piece, enlarging the hole you're fitting the wires through in the trim piece also makes this easier, but it is not required.
Once the bolt is through the drilled hole and wires are routed through the existing hole, carefully slide the washer and thread the nut onto the bolt. Be careful how you perform this step as you don't want the bolt to slip back into the cubby. That's it! You can now finish wiring up your switch panel.
